I love my morning coffee, it’s part of my daily routine, but I was finding that making a French Press coffee in the morning was taking too long because I always seemed to spill the coffee grounds everywhere in my mad rush, and I never cleaned my French Press well enough and always had to clean it all over again later!

Discovering coffee tea bags

This is when I came across coffee bags and found out that they were an actual thing! Yes, you can get coffee brew bags just like tea bags. These things actually exist.

I couldn’t believe my luck when I found out that my fave coffee brand, Florence by Mills Coffee had put my go-to blend, authentically brew, into a coffee bag. This is just the best coffee in a tea bag - fbmc uses Rainforest Alliance Certified 100% Arabica coffee beans ground to perfection and then sealed in a coffee bag.

I love the rich chocolate and hazelnut notes and the amazing full bodied texture I get from my coffee from such a simple little bag.

Benefits of coffee tea bags

There are so many benefits to having ground coffee in a coffee tea bag rather than loose, it's easy to see why it has become my go to when I’m in a rush

  • Make a premium tasting fresh coffee in super quick time
  • No need to measure out any grounds from a bag
  • No mess from spilt coffee grounds
  • Nothing to clean up afterwards apart from the mug
  • Easy to use - it would be hard NOT to make a great coffee

Compostable coffee bags

What I love so much about fbmc is that their coffee bags are environmentally friendly because they are fully compostable, so once you have stirred your coffee bag in your cup of hot water and squeezed it out, you can pop it straight into the compost.

Each of the fbmc coffee bags is sealed in a foil sachet to maximise and preserve freshness, it’s why every time I have one it gives me the same incredible experience I get when I’m enjoying fresh ground coffee from my French Press. And because each coffee brew bag is individually wrapped I get to pop one in my bag to take to the office later. Everyone thinks I have just popped out to a coffee shop when they smell my late morning coffee at my desk!

So how do you brew coffee bags

Every coffee bag is different so I would look at the suggestion on the packaging for how long to steep the coffee bag. I like to pop mine in a mug, add just boiled water and wait for up to 4 minutes. If you want it to taste stronger leave it for a little longer, it really is up to you. I enjoy an Americano in the morning, but by late morning I like to add a dash of milk into my coffee.

How to brew coffee brew bags

  • Just pop a coffee bag in your  mug
  • Add hot water, stir
  • Wait for 3-5 minutes,
  • Squeeze, remove the bag and enjoy!
  • Add milk and coffee syrup to taste

How long do coffee brew bags last?

Because each of the fbmc coffee bags is individually wrapped they can last a minimum of 12 months on shelf. Always check the packaging. Once opened, enjoy immediately.
